CROOKERS FEAT. KARDINAL OFFISHALL & CARLA-MARIE
There are moments in music history when a new genre is born, and we're gleaming with excitement because our featured Dance Express Spotlight is at the forefront of such a movement. Fidget house or sometimes also referred to as blog house, is arguably the hippest dance craze at the moment thanks to the blog culture and a few powerhouse DJs like the Italian duo Crookers. This exciting mix of stuttering house beats, deep bass lines, ravey synths and close-cut vocals is on the up and up, and dance clubs around the world are thumping to this au courant dance furor.
Before their collaboration as Crookers, Bot and Phra pursued their music interests on different platforms. Bot took up the piano and guitar at an early age, later moving onto synths, turntables and sequencers. Phra was introduced to the Italian hip-hop scene at age 11, and that's when he started to experiment on the turntables and hone his craft. Soon, Phra morphed into an MC and became fully immersed in a culture that would shape his future production career. When Phra's and Bot's paths crossed, both were trying to branch out of their genre and explore dance music. So, the two decided to work on a collaboration project, and the experiment worked. Crookers has churned out a catalogue of original tracks that have filled dance floors across the globe, but it's their work as remixers that have made them one of the most sought after production duos in the business. Currently, Crookers has reworked tracks for Armand van Helden, Bonde do Role, Brodinski, The Chemical Brothers, Magik Johnson, Moby, Chromeo and more.
After the international chart-topping dancehall smash that was Crookers' remix of Kid Cudi's "Day N Night", the Milan duo prepares to unleash new single, and our featured track – "Put Your Hands On Me". The new single from Crookers features rapper Kardinal Offishall and Xenomania songstress Carla-Marie, and the album will be released on celebrated English dance imprint Southern Fried Records. The single is off of their first LP, "Tons Of Friends". The album is expected to live up to its name as it features a jaw-dropping roll call of musical guests like Kelis, Soulwax, Major Lazer, Spank Rock, Pitbull and Roisin Murphy among others. Enjoy this groundbreaking, trend-setting, soul-thumping collection of beats.
