The French are known for their world-class art, fashion, cuisine, wine and this week for your Dance Express Spotlight, the French are also known for their world-class producer/DJ David Guetta. Much like the Eiffel Tower is a symbol that stands tall above David's native Paris, Guetta also towers above his peers with incredible talent and a global following. David Guetta is one of the most popular producers on the planet right now with an impressive track record for creating international chart-topping hits.

David Guetta got his first set of turntables when he was only 13, and a year later he began hosting parties in his basement. By the time he was 17, Guetta began playing hip-hop and house music at various clubs throughout Paris. It didn't take long before the doors started to open for David Guetta, and he's now a multi-Platinum selling artist in Europe with three chart-topping albums to his credit. Guetta released "Just A Little More Love" in 2002, "Guetta Blaster" in 2004 and "Pop Life" in 2007 with notable success. Without a shadow of a doubt David Guetta had an incredibly successful year in 2009 by taking a risk and collaborating with pop artists like Kelly Rowland, Akon, Will.i.am and Estelle for his latest "One Love" album.

Guetta has taken electronic music out of the confines of the global underground and carried it to new heights with this album. The album's debut single, "When Love Takes Over" (featuring former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland), topped the UK Singles chart and became a global smash hit for the French house mainstay. Guetta's second single, "Sexy Bitch" (featuring the Senegalese-American rapper Akon), also topped several international music charts and is still getting generous airplay and club play. The momentum continues to build as Guetta's third single is expected to be another chart-topping success. This time he features the Grammy Award-winning British R&B singer Estelle on our featured single, "One Love". David Guetta has stated that his mission is to share the love and connection dance music is built on while bringing together music scenes that co-exist but don't often mix, much like N.E.R.D.
