Scooter - Ti Sento

You know what? its not actually as corny as you think!.

Featured Artist: SCOOTER

One of the most successful European dance collectives is our featured artist for your Spotlight this week. With over 14 million records and countless Gold and Platinum awards, Scooter is by far one of the most accomplished dance phenomenons to ever grace the dance floor.

Scooter was founded in Hamburg, Germany and is currently composed of H.P Baxter, Rick J. Jordan and Michael Simon. Although most of Scooter's early releases are associated with hard trance, they've explored with other dance genres such as jumpstyle and, occasionally, hip-hop and house. Scooter has been building their fan base for over a decade now, and they have grown from filling discotheques with a few hundred fans, to filling arenas with over 80,000 fans.

During the '80s, Baxter and Jordan scored a series of club hits as a German new wave band. In 1994 Scooter debuted as a project with the single "ValleƩ de Larmes", and they scored their breakthrough hit with the follow-up "Hyper Hyper", which sold over 700,000 copies in Germany alone. A series of Top 5 hits followed, including "Move Your A**!", "Friends" and "Endless Summer" which all were featured on the trio's 1995 debut LP.

At first many believed that Scooter just was merely riding the wave of the first hit, and their critics soon found out that they were very wrong. Having fun is the driving force behind the trio, far more than the pressure to succeed and live up to expectations. According to front man H.P. Baxter, this is how Scooter has been able to re-invent their sound with nearly every single, constantly combining styles that others would strictly separate. Scooter employ their unbelievable creativity with a healthy portion of humor and irony. The result is electronic ballads, '80s-style electro tracks, and melancholic songs.

After nearly a decade of success, Scooter's 14th studio project is one of the most anticipated dance releases of the year. "Under The Radar Over The Top" is the name of their latest album, and their second single, "Ti Sento", is our featured track. The new Scooter single is based on a 1986 song by the Italian group Matia Bazar, and the song features the former singer of Matia Bazar, Antonella Ruggiero.
